What is Visi?

Visi is support for young people that starts with understanding.

Growing up can be complicated. Friendships change, expectations get bigger, confidence can wobble, emotions can feel harder to manage, and sometimes a young person can look like they’re struggling with something completely different to what’s actually going on underneath.

Visi creates a space for young people to slow things down, make sense of what they’re experiencing and understand themselves a little better.

Through mentoring and tailored programs, we help young people build the understanding, confidence and practical skills they need to navigate the things that come with growing up. From big transitions like starting high school to the everyday challenges that can feel surprisingly hard.

We’re not here to fix young people or make them fit a mould.

We’re here to help them feel seen, heard and capable, while giving them the missing pieces they need to move forward.

Connect. Understand. Fill the missing pieces.

Hi, I’m Kiah.

Visi started with a pretty simple idea:

What if we stopped looking at what a young person is doing and got curious about why?

I’ve always been fascinated by people. What makes us tick, why we react the way we do, why something that seems so small to one person can feel enormous to another, and why sometimes the thing we see on the outside isn’t actually the thing that needs our attention.

That curiosity is a huge part of how I work with young people.

I’m not particularly interested in putting people in boxes, following a script or handing out a list of things they should be doing. I’d much rather sit down with a young person, get to know them properly and work out what actually makes sense for them.

I’m a mum, a mentor, a thinker, a chronic overthinker, and someone who has always enjoyed understanding people.

I’ve worked with young people and families for years, but becoming a mum has also changed the way I see things. It’s given me a much bigger appreciation for understanding that behaviour is a message.

I care a lot about young people feeling like they can be themselves. Not the version of themselves that gets the best feedback from adults. Not the version that makes school easier. Not the version that looks good on paper.

Them.

I believe there is usually more going on than what we can see on the surface, and I think young people deserve adults who are willing to slow down enough to find out what it is.
